Graduation Design (Thesis) Requirements

(Previewed)

1. Teaching objectives

Graduation design is an important part of completing professional teaching plans and achieving the training goals of applied undergraduate majors. It is also the most comprehensive teaching practice link in the teaching plan. It is of great significance to cultivating students' ability to independently analyze and solve problems and improve the comprehensive quality of graduates.

Through graduation design, students' abilities should be trained and improved in the following aspects:

1. Comprehensively use the theories and techniques of the major you have learned to analyze and solve practical problems;

2. Master the basic methods of literature search and data query and the ability to acquire new knowledge;

3. Design and develop computerssoftware, basic capabilities of hardware or application systems;

4. The ability to organize teams and collaborate with work;

5. Ability to write papers and express language.

2. Teaching requirements

The teaching requirements of graduation design are reflected in all stages of the entire thesis work and can be focused according to the characteristics of the project, but the following basic requirements should be met:

1. Develop a reasonable and feasible work plan based on the project tasks;

2. Carry out necessary research on topics, data collection and literature reading, and collect and summarize relevant scientific and technological information;

3. Develop feasible technical solutions and demonstrate them through comparison with other solutions;

4. Independently complete the design and implementation of the system or module. Software design must be in line withSoftware Engineeringspecification,hardwareThe design must comply with various specifications of principle representation, circuit drawings and process requirements;

5. Develop a test plan for the system or module, and analyze and evaluate the functional and performance indicators of the system or module based on complete test data;

6. Summarize the project results and write a paper. For projects carried out in combination with non-computer disciplines, more than 2/3 of the content should involve the design of computer software and hardware;

7. Pass thesis defense;

8. The graduation thesis time is 10 weeks and the credits are 10 credits; in addition, internships can be arranged in the early stage of graduation design, with a maximum of 3 credits in internships, and the remaining are graduation thesis credits.

9. Students can only write papers after completing the unified compulsory courses and obtaining 70% or more of the minimum graduation credit required. They are generally arranged in the fourth semester and later. The Learning Center organizes students to write papers, and the branch guides the Learning Center to select and start papers, and checks all aspects of the writing process.

3. Principles of topic selection

Students choose topics under the guidance of the instructor, and the topics are checked by teachers of majoring in the learning center. The principles of topic selection are:

1. The topic must be in line withComputer majorcomprehensive training requirements;

2. Highly engineered topics should be selected as much as possible to ensure sufficient engineering training;

3. The paper work must have certain workload requirements to ensure clear work results;

4. In principle, each student must have an independent sub-project for topics with larger tasks, and graduation design questions should also be distinguished;

5. When choosing topics, you should focus on application and try to combine them with actual technical development projects such as teaching, scientific research, and production in the region and the unit, or theoretical research topics with practical prospects.

The instructor formulates a "Graduation Design (Thesis) Task Book" based on the topic selection, clarifying the teaching requirements and schedules of each stage of graduation design, and focusing on strengthening the task implementation and process management of graduation design.

4. Instructor

The instructor is both a business instructor of graduation design and an organizer of thesis work. The instructor should conscientiously perform his duties and guide students to complete the entire process of graduation design.

1. The instructor should be familiar with the teaching situation, have a bachelor's degree or above in this major, and have intermediate or above professional and technical positions or more than 5 years of experience in related industries;

2. The number of students guided by each full-time instructor is generally no more than 15, and the number of students of all kinds of students guided by the part-time instructor is generally no more than 10 per person; for areas with a large number of graduate design students, a guidance group (more than 3 people) will be established to jointly guide to ensure quality.

3. The instructor should guide students in stages to check the progress and quality of work. Instructions shall be made at least 5 times and detailed records shall be made, with a total guidance time of no less than 8 hours; ensure the quality of graduation thesis in terms of topic selection, content, writing style, integrity, etc.;

5. Graduation design job management

After receiving the "Graduation Design (Thesis) Task Book", students can enter the graduation design stage. During this period, process management is combined with goal management. Each student must go through the following three processes, and the instructor must conduct three critical inspections.

1. Projection report

Students submit a project opening report, instructors check whether the students have fully understood the content and requirements of the project; whether the work plan is practical; whether the experimental conditions required by the project are met. Those who fail the opening inspection must complete it again.

2. Interim inspection

The mid-term examination is carried out when the graduation design reaches a certain stage. Check the progress and quality of students' graduation design and provide corresponding guidance on students' problems. The inspection results should be recorded.

3. Completed and accepted

The final acceptance is carried out after the test or design work is completed. It mainly checks whether the students' work attitude is serious and whether the behavior is standardized; whether the design drawings are qualified and whether the experimental data is complete and reliable; the test demonstration operation, test results or computer program operation results; whether all the work is completed as required. Students who fail to pass the final acceptance will make rectification within a specified period of time.

After the completion and acceptance, the paper will be officially printed and submitted to the instructor for review.

4. During the graduation design period, the learning center should regularly check the graduation design situation, focusing on the implementation and supervision of the graduation design to ensure the smooth completion of the graduation design. The headquarters and branches of the National Open University conducted random inspections on the graduation design work of the Learning Center.

6. Paper requirements and ratings

1. Paper requirements

(1) Students refer to the writing guidance for graduation design thesis (see Appendix 1), must complete the graduation design thesis independently, and resolutely eliminate bad habits such as plagiarism;

(2) The paper has a complete content, a reasonable structure, a concise review, correct arguments, sufficient arguments, and clear conclusions;

(3) The paper is written in a standardized manner, the literature and science are smooth, the technical terms are accurate, the charts are clear, and the test data is real;

(5) The main text of the thesis is attached to the "Graduation Design (Thesis) Task Book", the student's "Project Report", the Interim Report" and the "Project Acceptance Report" (see Appendix 2 for the typesetting and binding style);

(6) The paper requires a unified format, a unified cover, and a printed and bound book, which meets the requirements for the writing form of the National Open University paper (see Appendix 3).

2. Defense organization and time

(1) Defense Committee

The branch establishes a defense committee according to its discipline and major. The defense committee supervises and inspects and solves professional and academic problems that arise during the defense process. It consists of 3 or more experts with a high level of professionalism in this major. Members must have bachelor's degree or above in their major, associate senior or above professional and technical positions, and there must be no less than one expert in senior professional and technical positions.

(2) Defense Group

Based on the content of the students' papers, the Learning Center hires 5 or more defense teachers from the majors to form a defense group. The composition of the defense team should be reasonable, highly professional, and have a certain degree of authority. There are no less than 2 people with deputy senior or above professional and technical positions.

The defense teacher must have a bachelor's degree or above in the corresponding major, an intermediate or above professional and technical title, more than 3 years of teaching and research experience in the corresponding major, or more than 5 years of experience in related industries. The main responsibility of the defense teacher is to review the papers of the students participating in the defense, raise questions based on this, and make on-site comments on the students' defense situation.

Each defense group should have one defense host, and the thesis instructor shall not be a member of the defense group for his or her own guidance of students. Each defense team should also hire a full-time teacher as the defense team secretary, who is specifically responsible for various matters of thesis defense.

The defense host can be from the National Open University school management system or hired from outside the school management system. The defense host within the school system must hold a defense host qualification certificate issued by the National Open University. The defense host hired from outside the school system must have a professional and technical title of associate senior or above from an ordinary university, or have more than 8 years of experience in related industries (required to have qualification certificate).
