The relationship between the five major project management process groups and the project management of individual projects

5 major project management process groups:
Start the process group. Be authorized to define a new phase of a new project or an existing project, officially starting a set of processes of that project or phase.
Planning process group. A set of processes to clarify the scope of the project, optimize the goals, and formulate an action plan to achieve the goals.
Execute process group. A set of processes that complete the work identified in the project management plan to achieve project goals.
Monitoring process group. Track, review and adjust project progress and performance, identify necessary plan changes and initiate a set of processes for corresponding changes.
Finishing process group. A set of processes implemented to complete all activities of all process groups to formally end the project or phase.

Project management process for individual projects
Start the process group

1. Formulate project charter
Developing a project charter is the process of developing a document that formally approves the project or stage and documenting preliminary requirements that reflect the needs and expectations of stakeholders. In multi-stage projects, this process can be used to identify or optimize relevant decisions made during the previous project charter development process.
2. Identify stakeholders
Identifying stakeholders is the process of identifying all people or organizations affected by the project and documenting their interests, participation and impacting the success of the project.

Planning process group

3. Formulate a project management plan
Developing a project management plan is a process of documenting the actions necessary to define, prepare, integrate and coordinate all sub-plans. Project management plans are the main source of information on how to plan, execute, monitor and finish a project.

4. Collect requirements
Collecting requirements is a process of defining and documenting the needs of stakeholders to achieve project goals.

V. Define the scope
Defining a scope is the process of developing a detailed description of the project and product.

6. Create a Work Decomposition Structure (WBS)
Creating a work breakdown structure is the process of breaking down project deliverables and project work into smaller, more manageable components.

7. Define activities
Defining an activity is a process of identifying specific actions to be taken to accomplish project deliverables.

8. Arrange the order of activities
Arrangement of activity order is the process of identifying and recording the logical relationship between project activities.

9. Estimate activity resources
Estimating activity resources is a process of estimating the types and quantity of materials, personnel, equipment and supplies required for each activity.

10. Estimate the duration of the activity
Estimating the duration of an activity is the process of estimating the number of working hours required to complete a single activity based on the results of resource estimation.

11. Make a progress plan
Developing a schedule is the process of analyzing activity sequence, duration, resource requirements and progress constraints and preparing a project schedule.
12. Estimated cost
Estimating costs is the process of approximately estimating the funds required to complete project activities.

13. Make a budget
Budget development is a process of summarizing the estimated costs of all individual activities or work packages and establishing an approved cost benchmark.

14. Planning quality
Planning quality is the process of identifying quality requirements and/or standards for a project and its products and describing in writing how the project will meet these requirements and/or standards.

15. Formulate a human resources plan
Developing a human resource plan is the process of identifying and recording project roles, responsibilities, required skills, and reporting relationships, and preparing a staffing management plan.

16. Planning and Communication
Planning communication is the process of determining the information needs of project stakeholders and defining communication methods.

17. Planning and risk management
Planning risk management is the process that defines how project risk management activities are implemented.

18. Identify risks
Identifying risks is the process of judging which risks may affect a project and documenting its characteristics.

19. Implement qualitative risk analysis
Implementing qualitative risk analysis is a process of evaluating and comprehensively analyzing the probability and impact of risks, prioritizing risks, thereby providing the basis for subsequent analysis or actions.

20. Implement quantitative risk analysis
Implementing quantitative risk analysis is the process of quantitative analysis of the impact of identified risks on the overall goal of the project.

21. Planning risk response
Planning risk response is a process of formulating plans and measures to improve opportunities and reduce threats based on project goals.

22. Planning and procurement
Planning and procurement is a process of recording project procurement decisions, clarifying procurement methods, and identifying potential sellers.

Execution process group

23. Guidance and management project execution
Guiding and managing project execution is the process of performing the work identified in the project management plan to achieve project goals.

24. Implement quality assurance
Implementing quality assurance is the process of auditing quality requirements and quality control measurement results, ensuring the adoption of reasonable quality standards and operational definitions.

25. Form a project team
Building a project team is the process of confirming available human resources and forming the team required for the project.

26. Construction project team
Building a project team is a process of improving work ability, promoting team interaction and improving team atmosphere to improve project performance.

27. Manage the project team
Managing a project team is the process of tracking team members’ performance, providing feedback, solving problems, and managing changes to optimize project performance.

28. Publish information
Release information is the process of providing relevant information to project stakeholders as planned.

29. Management stakeholder expectations
Managing stakeholder expectations is a process of communicating and collaborating with stakeholders to meet their needs and addressing problems that occur.

Thirty. Implement procurement
Implementing procurement is the process of obtaining a seller's response, selecting a seller, and awarding a contract.

Monitoring process group

31. Monitoring project work
Monitoring project work is the process of tracking, reviewing and adjusting project progress to achieve performance goals identified in the project management plan. Project supervision includes reporting project status, measuring project progress, and predicting project status. A performance report is required to provide performance information on all aspects of the project, such as scope, progress, cost, resources, quality and risks. This information can be used as input to other processes.

32. Implement overall change control
Implementing overall change control is the process of reviewing all change requests, approving changes, and managing changes to deliverables, organizational process assets, project documents and project management plans.

33. Verification scope
The scope of verification is the process of formally accepting delivered results completed by the project.

Thirty-four. Control range
Control scope is the process of supervising the scope status of projects and products and managing scope benchmark changes.

35. Control progress
Controlling progress is a process of supervising project status to update project progress and managing progress benchmark changes.

36. Control costs
Cost control is the process of supervising project status to update project budgets and managing changes in cost benchmarks.

37. Implement quality control
Implementing quality control is a process of monitoring and recording the results of execution of quality activities, thereby evaluating performance and suggesting necessary changes.

38. Report performance
Reporting performance is the process of collecting and publishing performance information, including status reports, progress measurements, and forecasts.

39. Monitor risks
Monitoring risk is a process of implementing a risk response plan throughout the project, tracking identified risks, monitoring residual risks, identifying new risks, and evaluating the effectiveness of the risk process.

Forty. Manage procurement
Managing procurement is the process of managing procurement relationships, supervising contract performance, and taking necessary changes and corrective actions.

Finishing process group
The closing process group consists of a set of processes implemented to complete all activities of all project management process groups to formally end project or phase or contractual responsibilities. When this process group is completed, it means that all processes of all process groups required to complete a project or project phase have been completed and formally confirmed that the project or project phase has ended. The following work may be required at the end of the project or phase:
Obtain acceptance by the customer or sponsor;
Perform post-project evaluation or phase-end evaluation;
Record the impact of any process of “cutting”;
Record lessons learned;
Proper update of organizational process assets;
Archive all relevant project files in the Project Management Information System (PMIS) for
Used as historical data;
End the procurement work.

41. End the project or stage
Ending a project or phase is the process of completing all activities in all project management process groups to formally end the project or phase.

42. End the purchase
Ending procurement is the process of completing a single project procurement process.
